Bought this at the weekend & I've only got as far as flicking through it at this stage but it looks fab. Just an FYI too in case you haven't got it yet - I got it in TESCO & they are currently selling it at half price (Sorry I know this only applies to UK peeps).

Thought I'd start this up for people to talk about it as I'm sure I'm not the only one who has it.

Love the free artwork that comes with it - that is definitely going up somewhere  Smiley

I'll be back to talk more about it when I've actually read it but don't let that stop you posting away (I know we already have a thread for the teasers so this can be for the rest of the book!)

Sigryn's post was partly what spurred me into buying it. Plus it was reduced. And the cover's kind of shiny.

Sorry they are all excuses to cover up the fact that I have very little patience & I'm weak when it comes to feeding my obsessions. That it is about Doctor Who was enough  Tongue

Inside the back cover there's a fold out poster - I'm guessing they are from this but it says there are 4 different posters to collect (4 pics to each poster) - mine only has one of these pics on. Judging by these and the ones I've got there is one image for each episode - mine seem to correspond to the first 4 episodes of Series 5.

To add to what I said previously these pics do also appear in the book - on the page for the episode to which they correspond  Smiley

Digging this up because I finally read it all.

Well they got the title right - brilliant is the word.

It is a great companion to Series 5 - providing lots of info about the eps & the process of getting them from the writer's head to the page, & from the page to the screen. I also love the way it links things that happened in S5 back to things that have come before, not just in New Who but in the Classic eps too - even if it's just telling us something simple, e.g. in which other episodes the Doctor has met vampire-like creatures - they are nice little reminders that this is a show with a long history. And these little things should encourage some newbies (like me) to seek out more of that history.

Another nice touch for me are the extras. I won't list them all but Churchill's 'Lost' Diaries covering his encounters with the Doctor & The Constant Warrior which details some of Rory's exploits during his Pandorica vigil were interesting. A genuine, if brief, history of Vincent Van Gogh is also included & I think it's right that his story here in the book is not tweaked to include his meeting with The Doctor.

The interviews with Matt, Karen, Arthur, Alex & The Moff are all quite interesting though, despite the best efforts of the interviewer, they are giving nothing about the future away.

My only issue is I'm still not sure about the story 'Umwelts for Hire' - might have been my mood when I read it but it just didn't do much for me. I've read other things where I could hear the characters I know coming through & I didn't get that here. Maybe another reading will correct that.

Last word is about the free poster - amazing. I have 2 now thanks to winning one in a Twitter competition (of sorts) that @DrWhoBBCBooks ran. Really must find homes for them  Smiley

I think that's all.

So ... have you got this book? What do you think of it? Do you disagree with me about the story? Let us know below  Smiley

Apparantly, Moffat read this and liked one of the fake spoilers so much that he has written it into the finale of S6. No idea what it might be though

I read that too. Dragged the book out again to see which ones had already happened, then tried to puzzle out which one it is. No clue  Undecided
