I always used to think that John Smith and the Common Men was an actual band from the 60s. It was only a year or two ago that I realised they were made up for the story.

It would be very cool if they made mention of him being in a band under his alias. I wouldn't put it past Moff to add something like that

In all the times I have watched this story I can't say I have ever paid the blindest bit of notice to the name of the band. It would be interesting now that I know it if they made a reference to it in some way but without this thread that would have gone right over my head
