A rather cool, and quite funny reference from this weeks new Big Bang Theory. Amy is such an awesome character.

Don't quite remember what we were talking about but one of the lecturers at Aberystwyth uni said "trust me, I'm a Doctor" I had to have a little giggle to myself!

A recent episode (Friday's I think) of the quiz show Eggheads had a question on who played the Doctor in City of Death - it's done as a choice of three, and the wrong answers were Pertwee and McCoy. The contestant guessed it right on the basis that TB was in more than the others

Noticed this in my book this morning & I've checked that the author actually meant it as a DW ref - she did Page 310 of Pale Demon by Kim Harrison: "So all those buttons are different restaurants?" I asked, looking at the jukebox, now totally out of place, like a British police call box on the deck of the Titanic.

In my book I'm reading. I Heart New York by Lindsey Kelk "how many pockets did he have in there? His jacket was like the TARDIS"

Just getting stuck into the latest Thursday Next novel, The Woman Who Died A Lot by Jasper Fforde and he's referencing DW again.
First up a pic at the front of the book shows Thursday's daughter Tuesday with what is unmistakeably Eleven's sonic screwdriver in her pocket.
Secondly on page 267 the result of an experiment to uncover more about Dark Reading Matter (read the books to find out more about that. I mean really do, these books are amazing IMO) using dodos is Daleks. This either means that: 1. The DRM 'might contain all forms of lost or discarded storytelling endeavour' - ie the missing episodes among many other things, or 2. the dodo in question is obsessed with Daleks!

In this month's Sky at Night, they're discussing Curiosity, described as a nuclear-powered, laser-equipped robot on Mars, and Patrick comments "It's pure Doctor Who".

This came up in Rivers of London by Ben Aaronovitch - I think it's around p. 22 (I read it on my Kobo so it's hard to tell!):
"The man was wearing what looked like a Smurf hat and what I recognized as an Edwardian smoking jacket--don't ask me why I know what an Edwardian smoking jacket looks like; let's just say it has something to do with Doctor Who and leave it at that."
Probably not a surprise really as he has written for the show in the past.

Tonight's Mastermind featured a contestant doing Doctor Who (classic series) as his specialist subject. It's on iplayer if you want to test yourself. I got ten right.

One edition of the current series of Celebrity Eggheads had a team of actors, including Frances Barber and Derek Jacobi, who referred to playing the Master as one of the high spots of his career. Although, since the other one he mentioned was narrating In The Night Garden, I'm not sure what to make of that

So many references, so little time. I guess the animators of Rugrats were Doctor Who fans.
