Some of the scenes inside the buildings, when looking out, show it to be raining, but then when it cuts to outside shots it never is.

The punishment for Baines and Sister Of Mine both have always seemed stupid to me. Trapping her in a mirror is one thing, trapping her in every single one is another. And making him a scarecrow 'forever' is also a bit silly.

Oh my god Karen, you can't just ask someone why they're white!

I agree - the whole thing with the punishments seems more like magic than anything, which just doesn't fit DW. This may not be a mistake, as I can think of possible explanations, but - if the Doctor could fool the Family into believing he was still human, why couldn't he have done that, instead of the whole elaborate change?

I don't see this as a mistake, but it's always seemed really silly the way The Doctor just strolls in and blows up that spaceship. There is no way that he pressed all those buttons in a particular order so pressing them at all must be a dangerous thing to do, so why didn't the Family make a run for it straight away? And how did he even know that pressing them would have that effect? I can't imagine many ships/planes/space ships or whatever having loads of buttons hanging about that would blow it up if pushed.

The only thing I didn't fully understand was the age of the kids. The guy playing Tim Latimer looked about 11 years old, but everyone else looked to be about 16-17. I know you get all ages in a school, but he shared classes and a dorm with these other guys so you would assume they were in the same year.

He'd have been what was called a fag (not in the American sense ) which was a system where a junior boy had to act as an unpaid servant to a senior one, who would either bully the boy or take him under his wing, depending on the senior's nature. Latimer would have been about 13, I think.

Yes, I think that was the mistake - that he shouldn't have been old enough to be fighting, rather than that he looked too young.
