The Tenth Doctor was the tenth incarnation of the renegade Time Lord known as the Doctor. Unlike his immediate predecessor, who was plagued by melancholy due to his actions during the Last Great Time War, this incarnation was much more outgoing and genial, a demeanour that hid the "survivor's guilt" that had plagued him since the war. Over his life, however, the weight became much more pronounced. He was haunted by companions lost, enemies believed long-dead and events that threatened the fabric of time itself. He met his end after he absorbed a huge quantity of nuclear radiation whilst saving the life of his friend, Wilfred Mott, leading to his regeneration into his next incarnation.

Couple of scenes really stand out in these episodes where Tennant is amazing! First when he's rewriting all his cells and second in the space ship, when he's pretending to be John Smith, it's definitely a tear jerker!

I find it weird to see such a different side of ten in this though, all through as he's John Smith he's brilliant, quite a softie, and it's nice to see that the Doctor gets scared! You move on through the story and right at the end when he's dealing with the Family of Blood I find him sooooo harsh and cold, I mean no way could he just let them go, but it seems harsh that he even kind of punished the little girl!

With this story I think David Tennant put in his absolute best performance on Doctor Who, which is ironic really considering for the most part he wasn't playing 'The Doctor'.

The Doctor was pretty much annoying. Probably moreso than normal with the way he was towards Joan at the end. The stuff as John Smith though I thought was great.

I thought he did a great job with what was essentially a dual character.  David Tennant's never been among my absolute favourite Doctors, but he showed here what a fine actor he is.

As John I thought he was played really well but I found 'The Doctor' in this to be really annoying. For the most part I think Tennant is awesome, but he had a tendancy to overact and get to glary and emo at times and it happened here which sort of took me out of this for the last 10 or so minutes.

I think if someone asked me to show them Tennants best performance in Doctor Who, this is where I would point them. As Saber said though, it's largely down to him playing someone other than the Doctor.

One of the rare times when I found Tennant really easy to watch. The stuff between him and Joan was excellent and I loved the way they weaved bits of the Doctor into Johns character while still being different. Some great writing
