What a brilliant character Joan was. It's a shame how things panned out because I think she could have made a great companion in the TARDIS. Jessica Hynes played her so well and her reappearance (though as the granddaughter of Joan) was one of my favourite cameos from TEOT.

I thought Joan was a great character. Really likeable and a good match for the 'John', though she was a bit snooty at times.

The snootiness was really just the society she came from.  I thought she was a great character.

Yea, Joan was great. And she was played so well. You could believe that she was actually heartbroken by the whole thing. I liked how strong she was about it all though.

She was one of the more rounded guest characters we've seen, I think. She had an interesting background and what we got on screen I think was a product of everything she had seen and been through, both as a nurse and a widow. I liked her a lot.

Joan is one of those characters that I would love to see again but see very little justification for it. Especially outside of Tens incarnation. Still though, as a one off she was brilliant.
