Yay for the jaqueline hill bonus stuff. There is a considerable Barbara shaped hole on so many first Doctor DVD bonus features. It's a shame they waited until meglos to feature her more

Seems a little strange they're putting it on this DVD rather than one of the ones where she's playing the character she's best known for, but either way it's well overdue. Might even persuade me to buy this. I already have it on VHS and I wouldn't exactly put it among my favourites (although a cactusised Tom Baker can never be a bad thing!). Maybe one where I'll wait a few months and see what Amazon drop the price to...

I'm looking forward to this one. Ive never seen it before and have heard mixed things, but I loved JH as Barbara so am interested to see how she pulls off being another character and whether I can buy into it

It was great to watch Jacqueline Hill, and TB as an evil double was fun, but otherwise it's not one of my favourites.
A random bit of trivia - one of the villains in this is played by Frederick Treves, who's the great-nephew and namesake of the doctor who treated the Elephant Man.

Here is a full list of the features released today:
● 4 x 25 mins approx colour episodes with mono audio. ● Commentary - stereo. With actors Lalla Ward and Christopher Owen, co-writer John Flanagan, composers Paddy Kingsland and Peter Howell. ● Meglos Men (dur. 18’ 10”) – long-time writing partners John Flanagan and Andrew McCulloch revisit some of their old London haunts and meet with Doctor Who script editor Christopher H. Bidmead at his home to discuss ‘Meglos’, their only story for the series. ● The Scene Sync Story (dur. 12’ 03”) – ‘Meglos’ used a pioneering process called Scene Sync in the creation of many of its shots, in which a robotic camera moving over a model set followed the movements of a studio camera photographing the actors in a bluescreen set, allowing the two to be composited together into a single image. This documentary looks at the technology behind this precursor to today’s virtual-studio productions. With visual effects designer Stephen Drewett and studio cameramen Peter Leverick and Roger Bunce. ● Jacqueline Hill – A Life in Pictures (dur. 13’ 46”) – actress Jacqueline Hill was one of the original companions to accompany the Doctor in his early adventures, returning to the show many years later to play Lexa in ‘Meglos’. This documentary looks at the life of an actress whose life was taken tragically early by illness. With husband Alvin Rakoff, Doctor Who’s first producer Verity Lambert and friends and fellow actors William Russell and Ann Davies. ● Entropy Explained (dur. 4’ 53”) – Dr. Phillip Trowga of the University of Westminster looks at the principle of entropy, key to the plot of ‘Meglos’. ● Photo Gallery (dur. 4’ 17") - production, design and publicity photos from the story. ● Isolated Score – option to view the story with isolated music soundtrack. ● Coming Soon (dur. Approx 1’) - a trailer for a forthcoming DVD release. ● Radio Times Listings in Adobe PDF format.

These extras look utterly amazing. As I have intimated elsewhere, Christopher H. Bidmead is one of my dream writing team so anything from him is always worth listening to. And Peri-Peri has hit the nail on the head - why do we have to wait for Meglos for the amazing Jacqueline Hill to get some recognition! Still, better late than never!

I couldnt agree more with all of you. JH has been underservedly underrepresented on all the DVD extras and this is long overdue. It looks to be a good one too, though it seems it may focus mainly on her turn in Meglos. I'm not ungrateful but I want stuff about her being Barbara
