2013 Calendars

The first Calendar for 2013 has been revealed and I have to say that compared to previous years I am a little disappointed. The content is very similar to the 2012 Wall Calendar, which is a shame. I understand they haven't shown a series so far this year so new images will be few and far between, but they are releasing this on July 15th and I can't help thinking if they held back to nearer Christmas we would have had something that felt a bit newer.

More may be released at a later date, so like last year I will update them all in here as they are announced.

I think it's different enough that it doesn't seem the same, but it's a shame they haven't put anything new in it. They've released a trailor so we know some stuff. They could have used shots from those episodes to mix it up a little.

Seems a bit of a rush release tbh.

Why release a 2013 calendar in July?! Seems a bit ridiculous! I mean I know some people are super organised, but why buy a calendar 5 months in advance?! Waiting nearer the time, maybe November would make more sense? We will have had some episodes by then at least!

My thought on it is that they are releasing it early with the extra months for a bit of extra cash and then will release another nearer to Christmas with updated images etc from newer episodes, therefore effectively cashing in twice, especially for the more hard core fan who will go out and buy both. I don't know many people who do calendar shopping in July though. It's more of a Christmassy type thing. Though it does allow them to cash in on the Ponds while they are still around, as by the time a calendar is normally released their final episodes will be airing and they will effectively be 'old news'.

Either way, whether there is one or two, they are sort of in an awkward situation. With Jenna debuting on Christmas Day it is very unlikely any calendar released before that date will feature her, which will make the images on either calendar seem a bit dated by the time it's time to actually use them. For that reason they may be expecting low sales around Christmas and so are getting in early.

Either way I'm pretty sure it's a money making exercise. No effort has gone into the 2013 calendar to make it lok fresh or updated. It's a cheap job to make a last bit of money off the Ponds IMO.

It looks like everyone was right. Now that the 16 month calendar is out the 12 month one for 2013 has been announced. Only a cover is available at the moment though.

I like it, but there doesn't look like much space to write stuff!

Hannah is right, I like to have something I can scribble stuff down on, however if I bought this I wouldn't want to so I'd probably get a second cheaper one for all my birthday notes, etc.

I got the second 2013 one for Christmas, but I really wanted the 50th anniversary one. I've not seen it anywhere though.
