My absolute favourite incarnation of the Master. For me, no other has come close (I think I have seen them all) and this story, although not the best, shows off the Master brilliantly and Delgado puts in an excellent performance.

I absolutely agree. I think Ainley made a worthy successor, but Delgado was the original and the real Master.

Ainley was always excellent but he was particularly good in this story. Nobody has ever lived up to him in the role, for me.

You mean Delgado, right?

I don't think anyone will come close to Delgado in the role. He set a high benchmark that hasn't been reached since. I've liked pretty much every incarnation to some extent with the exception of the obviously classically trained Eric Roberts, but I don't think anyone will ever top Delgado for me.

To be fair, I don't think it was so much Eric Roberts' acting that was at fault, though that wasn't stellar, as the way the character was written. He just wasn't the Master.

I'm not generally a bit fan of the Master but I think he was great in this and Delgado is my favourite incarnation by far.

I'm with everyone else. Another excellent performance here and by far the best incarnation. And not just because he was the original but because he was written the best and acted the best.
