Peter Jackson is an enormous fan of Dr Who and Sylvester McCoy particularly.

Jackson even owns one of the 7th Doctor's original costumes.

McCoy was also considered for the part of Bilbo in TLotR movies.

I really hope Sylvester gets a part, he deserves it.

Amen to that. I loved McCoy's Doctor - give him the money, effects and writing we've got now and it would be very special indeed. I wish him all the success he could ask for.

Hope he gets whatever part he's looking for - Hollywood needs Sylv! Just a shame he's not in the running for Bilbo, I suspect he'd be perfect for it.
