The Seventh Doctor was the seventh incarnation of the Time Lord known as the Doctor. Originally an eccentric, light-hearted buffoon, this incarnation's jolly persona eventually darkened into that of a mysterious, cunning manipulator to properly combat the return of Fenric.

Like his immediate predecessor, the Seventh Doctor continued to travel with Melanie Bush. Though she was found his new persona hard to get used to, the Doctor eventually won her over by the time that she left with Sabalom Glitz to help him reform.

During his last adventure with Mel, the Doctor gained a new companion in the troubled 1980s teenager Ace. The Doctor did his best to try helping heal the psychological wounds in Ace by helping her overcome or come to terms with her past misdeeds or fears. Though he initially planned on returning Ace home, they ultimately travelled together for several years. How they were separated remains unknown.

Later in his life, the Seventh Doctor regenerated in San Francisco on 31 December 1999 after Dr. Grace Holloway performed exploratory surgery on him. The regeneration itself was delayed due to the anaesthesia.

McCoy put in 1000% here and it showed. What an excellent 'last' performance from him. This whole season was pretty brilliant and he was on top of his game the whole time. It just makes the cancellation that bit harder to swallow.

My thoughs on Seven change from story to story but this was definitely one of, if not the best performances he ever gave.

One of Sylvester McCoys finest performances. The stuff between him and Ace was brilliant.

Sylester is probably the Doctor I have watched the least, and perhaps by extension of that is the Doctor I have liked the least, but after seeing him in this my respect for the guy has gone up a lot. I thought he was great.

I thought he was great. I've liked him in all I have seen him in but that doesn't amount to much at the moment. Maybe three or four stories. This story definitely makes me want to see more though.

An excellent performance here from McCoy. One of the best things about this story is the acting, and the best of it came from him.
