As a possible antidote to this a number of tweeters report that BBC 1 has a 50 minute gap on Saturday evening, 1st Sept?

Either way an announcement is imminent soon (not least because the Radio Times "Coming Up Next week will be out soon)

So this means that (assuming there is one episode a week) the run will finish 29th September. I posted about this a while back and was reassured that we would be getting a bumper crop of Doctor Who. The reality is somewhat different.

6 episodes in 2012 (5 of the current run + 1 Xmas Special) and we have no information as to when the second half of the series will air in 2013

Hardly the bumper crop of Doctor Who that we were promised?

Still, good that we've finally got an air date after what seems to be an undue amount of faffing about by the BBC (even if it hasn't yet been officially confirmed on the BBC Website or the official twitter feed)

YAY! I hopefully shouldn't miss it while I'm in America... Assuming the hotel has BBC America!

Fingers crossed.

Space in Canada will also be showing it on September 1st.

If I hear anything about other countries I'll let you all know, but if anyone else hears before it goes in here feel free to add it  Smiley

To be expected I suppose - never does have a fixed time slot!

Do we have anything concrete on when the second half of the series will air?

Nothing concrete that I know of, but I've seen April mentioned.

Isn't there a bank holiday weekend in April? They usually air around then when they are launching a new series. Perhaps the same will happen with this?

Easter is the 29th March to the 1st April, so it would be 30th March if they were going for that.  There isn't another bank holiday till May.

Perhaps earlier is actually more likely this year as Moff keeps going on about wanting the show on when it's dark. It's pushing it leaving it that late but the earlier date would make more sense.

Nyki was spot on - the official Twitter feed have confirmed the show returns on Saturday March 30th  Smiley

It seems odd that they have announced it over two months before. For the last few series we have been left hanging until about 2 weeks before transmission.

Well the most common theory is that they are doing damage control because that thing at the toyfair yesterday revealed more than they intended to and showed (arguably) quite a poor lineup for the anniversary year instead of the 'more DW than ever before' that Moff was telling everyone.
