And I think this is the perfect example of why AI is such a misleading and unreliable index! Look at the audience growth rate compared to the AI! And look at the place in cultural history that this story has compared to others with a much higher AI

The AI's are poor. This story deserved higher scores even by classic Who AI standards. Ratings are great though.

The AI's aren't good when compared to today but in comparison with the classics they were at least on average or higher than a lot of stories.

I don't think the AI's should be knocked. We know they score them differently now which is why they are consistently higher but 65 was a big deal back then for any show, I think. For Doctor Who I don't think we have seen much higher, if any higher at all, for the whole of the 60's.
