When Yasmin finds a jewelled egg in her grandfather's shed, her first thought is to sell it. Unfortunately, the object is no valuable Faberge antique, but a dangerous weapon from another planet. Worse still, the buyer she finds online is a Russian secret agent working for the Committee for Extraterrestrial Research, who promptly swipes it, kills her brother Sayed and lands her in hospital. When Sgt Andy Davidson realises that he's not dealing with an ordinary double shooting, he calls Gwen Cooper, who breaks the bad news about the egg and its deadly contents. With no Torchwood to help, and Gwen in America, it's up to Andy and Yasmin to follow the trail of the 'Shiva virus' - all the way from Cardiff to the British Museum... After the previous Torchwood audio, this one is almost completely British
Can't complain. Again, set after the events of Miracle Day, and pretty much only features PC Andy, apart from one quick call to Gwen, who is still in the US!
Everyone knows that PC Andy has always wanted to be part of Torchwood, and I love how his part has grown in size, from just being quite a small character to now having an entire audio based around his adventures and solving alien problems in Cardiff.
Again, there is almost no explanation what has happened to Torchwood after Miracle Day, and no answers why Gwen is still kicking around in the US. It almost seems that after the events of Miracle Day the whole world has gone back to normal... The gap really needs to be filled.
Tom Price’s voice is really really easy to listen to, and actually easier to listen to than Kai Owen (Army of One). Price's voice and the speaking of Andy are really distinct. Andy's voice is Welsh, and Tom Price's narration is really soft and doesn't actually sound *that* Welsh! His adaptations to speak in different ways is pretty good. He does some decent imitations of Gwen and Rhys, as well as a pretty good Russian accent.
My final word. It's pretty enjoyable, and more "Torchwood" than before, but it still isn't my, and many other people's Torchwood.
