This is often voted the best DW story of all time, but putting the main bulk of the story aside, who do you think had the best regeneration up until this point? Maybe because it's emotional or dramatic or heroic etc.

For me it's a tossup between Three and Five. One just sort of passed out from (seemingly) old age, Two didn't really get one and Four was a sort of anticlimax. I think because of the heroic nature of it and the emotional punch of it, my vote goes to the Fifth Doctor.

It's sort of hard to judge them apart from the stories they happen in as for the most part the stories build up to the regen. As above, for me it comes down between Five and Three, but while I think the intentions of Five were honourable and the story was amazing, Three was far more heroic and the effects of that story would have been more far reaching had he not done what he did so my vite goes to the Third Doctor.

I agree with The Doc. I've gone with Three as well.

I know about the First Doctor's but I never saw it so I can't really judge it. I think the reasons behind Five's were the most Honourable though and for that reason it get's my vote.

For the amount that it revealed about the Doctor and his history and the way it dug into the mythos of the show, I have gone for the Second Doctor. If you can even call it a regen with the weird bits we saw. I like it anyway though.

I've only seen 2, 3 and 5 and of those the Third Doctors regen is my favourite (I also think POTS is better that this) and so that's where my vote went.

I agree with most of you that it's between the Third and Fifth. The First was such a novelty in itself that they didn't need to do anything more to make it special, so it's a bit low key when you see it now. The Second wasn't really shown, because they hadn't cast Jon Pertwee at the time, although what led up to it was great. The Fourth was odd - I never quite got the point of the Watcher.
PotS and CoA are both fantastic stories, and the both regens are heroic, but I've gone with the Third on balance.

My vote has also gone to the Third Doctor. There isn't really any that I am not keen on though. I think the Fourth Doctors was a bit of a dud but it wasn't all bad. They were all quite unique up to this point which is also a good thing.

They all have their pros and cons but I think the best of them was the Fifth Doctor's regen

Fifth for me. It seemed like such an honourable death like Aneurin said

For reason that others have summed up far better than I could, I've voted for the Third Doctor

My vote went to the Fifth Doctor, but like nearly everyone else it was a tossup between him and Three
