This is from the Daily Star, so discression and buckets of salt is advised, but they are running a story saying that the 'Doctor Who' Christmas special will feature opera star Katherine Jenkins singing a love song as part of the story.
It will be the first time in the BBC sci-fi show's 47-year history that a musical performance will be integrated into a storyline. The track is said to have been specially-written by Murray Gold - who pens all the music for the show. A source has apparantly told the paper
"It's going to be an amazing surprise. We have never had anyone burst into song on 'Doctor Who'. It's a TV first for us. This will send ratings sky high."

Well, if this is true, not such an amazing surprise you silly 'source' being as you just spilled your guts about it to a national newspaper (I use the word news loosely of course!)

Haha thats exactly what I was thinking She probably does sing. It wouldnt be such a giant leap of logic to assume so, but I am still dubious of anything the Star prints

I would actually be more surprised if she didn't sing to be honest.

I've found in the past that the Daily Star is usually quite accurate when it comes to Doctor Who spoilers. Probably cos they visit gallifrey base a lot!
PS - Picard/Riker /facepalm is full of win!!

Doc, your Picard/Riker picture made me giggle insanely! And if they ruin my Xmas special I will not be happy. Bear in mind that I am quite happy to summarily execute members of my family who disturb my Xmas special, you can imagine my rage at the thought of her bursting into song.

I personally wouldn't have anything against her singing in it unless it becomes silly and ridiculous.

I wouldn't mind, but I don't believe it considering what we know about her audition process.

It will be the first time in the BBC sci-fi show's 47-year history that a musical performance will be integrated into a storyline. I only just picked this up from its repost, but all I have to say to the above quote is - Silver Nemesis.

Was that really to advance the plot though?
Is this song stuff actually true anyway? It was the Daily Star who reported it after all

Was that really to advance the plot though? Yes - the tape Ace bought at the concert, and got autographed, was used to jam the Cyberman signal.

If you watch the videos of Matt/Karen/Arthur switching on the christmas lights wherever it was, Matt does indeed say she has a sing-song.

She is holding a microphone in some of the official pictures too. I thought it was a sonic screwdriver at first
