Two songs were number 1. ABBA with The Name Of The Game (4 weeks total) and Wings with Mull of Kintyre (9 weeks total)

I hate that Wings song! Really hate it.

Me too. Perhaps not that strongly, but I don't like it.

When I went to see Close Encounters, I made the mistake of going in the afternoon in the school holidays, and the place was full of kids running around yelling.  Till the mothership appeared, when there was sudden, complete silence, apart from the occasional "cooorrrrr"

I was one of those kids! I went to see Close Encounters and was bored senseless until the ship came down (apart from the mash potato mountain).

Do you know, I'm not sure I've ever seen it. There are famous scenes from it that I'm familiar with but I don't think I've ever sat and watched from beginning to end. Might have to rectify that at some point

I don't think I ever realised how young Verity Lambert was. I thought she was mid 30s when the show began. Makes her accomplishments on the show even more of an achievement when you consider her age as well

She was virtually untried - that's why they gave her an executive producer for her first series, as they did later with JNT.

I've not seen it either. I'm not big on alien films though tbh

I would have thought it was much earlier than that.
