Here are the ratings for The End Of Time. At this point the BBC were simulcasting the show on their HD channel and so there are effectively two ratings, but the ones I have posted below is the consolidated figures.

Overnight Ratings
The End Of Time Part 1 - 10.0m
The End Of Time Part 2 - 10.4m

Official Ratings
The End Of Time Part 1 - 12.1m
The End Of Time Part 2 - 12.3m

Weekly Chart Placing
The End Of Time Part 1 - 3rd
The End Of Time Part 2 - 2nd

AI
The End Of Time Part 1 - 87
The End Of Time Part 2 - 89

They are excellent ratings by any standards but I have to admit I thought they would be a bit higher for Tennants final act

You have to remember though that iPlayer was fully out there at this point and probably took a chunk of the viewings. Might be worth finding out those figures. We already know they play a huge part in the main series.

I asked before but nobody mentioned anything, but how exactly does an AI work. I'm guessing its like a score out of 100, right?

Don't worry, it used to confuse me as well!

I think, and I may be a bit off, that certain people within the UK are asked to vote by the ratings company and give the episode a score out of ten. An average is made from all the votes, say for example 8.7, and then it is multiplied by ten to give a score out of 100, in this example 87/100. I think if you get over 85 it's 'excellent'.

It's something like that anyway. Doctor Who usually scores in the 80's for NuWho but it's gone over and under at times, too.

TS has got the basics of it pretty much spot on. There are specifics about who can vote, the same as with the viewing figures, but in terms of how it's scored she is exactly right Smiley

1.3 and 1.4m respectively for TEOT on iPlayer.
