The Tenth Doctor was the tenth incarnation of the renegade Time Lord known as the Doctor. Unlike his immediate predecessor, who was plagued by melancholy due to his actions during the Last Great Time War, this incarnation was much more outgoing and genial, a demeanour that hid the "survivor's guilt" that had plagued him since the war. Over his life, however, the weight became much more pronounced. He was haunted by companions lost, enemies believed long-dead and events that threatened the fabric of time itself. He met his end after he absorbed a huge quantity of nuclear radiation whilst saving the life of his friend, Wilfred Mott, leading to his regeneration into his next incarnation. Discuss the Tenth Doctor here.

Tennant acted this well. I don't doubt that a second, but the writing was bloody awful. As I've said elsewhere by the end of it I couldn't wait for him to do one. I hated his whiny 'I don't want to go' speech. He was changing his face. He knows the drill, he wasn't going anywhere. It was self absorbed and poor writing imo.

Again, I agree with Ex. I think Tennant played the part really well but I think the writing, specifically his regen, was done poorly.

I think this was probably Tennants best performance in a while. He knew how to work a script regardless of how bad it was, but I think for a lot of people his final performance, regardless of quality, is marred by the bad writing.

He deserved a better final story because I don't think this story did enough to highlight just how strong his run was, which is a shame. I think it's perhaps the weakest regeneration story of the lot. Unless you include The Movie, which had a regen in it and was worse than this.

I agree with the above. He deserved a better swansong but he worked brilliantly with the script.

Joining the choir. Fine performance from Tennant, but a very patchy script.
