A very random fact.  The Doctor's line in episode 4, referring to the consuls' rings, "which in our case we have not got", is actually a quote from a poem called Lessons of the War by Henry Reed.

The name Tremas was coined by producer John Nathan Turner as an anagram of Master (trying to follow in the tradition of giving the viewers a hint that the Master was about, such as Mr Magister etc)

The original choice for Kassia was Glenda Jackson and when she said no, Dame Judi Dench was approached!

That actually is cool. I always find it hard to tell whether someone is human or just looks it in this show.
