Anyone else excited for this?

I loved the first series, dealing with a Jack the Ripper copycat - it was a brilliant thriller.

Series 2 deals with The Krays, so I'm puzzled as to why Steve Pemberton returns (both because he can't act & because his character was a Ripper guide).

I just hope STV are showing it or I'll need to itvplayer it the following day.

I really enjoyed the first series of this show (being as I am curious about the whole Jack the Ripper thing anyway - probably because it's an unsolved mystery) right up to the reveal of the killer at the end - when he removed all of his hair & was just a 'blank' (sorry no better way I could describe it) for some inexplicable reason that really freaked me out - and I mean properly freaked me out I just couldn't get the image out of my head & didn't sleep that night. Bizarre I know - I just wish I knew why. (BTW I'm baring my soul here please don't laugh at me  Smiley - you can laugh with me but not at me!)

I am looking forward to the new series and putting that rather strange occurrence behind me. I too was puzzled when I saw Steve Pemberton was back as he was the Ripperologist and the focus this series is different. I'm sure all will be revealed but I was expecting just a return of the actual police team not him  Undecided

Got the V+ all set, it's cracking.

You should check it out, Double-P, it's well worth your time.
Not sure if series 1 is on itv player, so may need to look for a cheeky download.

I'm right there with you, PRG, it was extremely unsettling!

Haven't seen it yet. Taking the precaution of watching it in broad daylight this time (plus it was up against Spooks). Can't wait though!  Cheesy

Absolutely.

I can't wait for next week.

PRG - I'm being scolded for not watching Spooks - I've only ever seen series 1, which was quite good.
Is the whole run worth a download?

I've actually only been watching Spooks since RPJ left and Richard Armitage joined (daft really as I like RPJ but there you go!) so this is only my 3rd series - but I really like what I have seen over those series. I did start to watch it when it first started but the whole deep fried face incident put me off, though I did watch odd episodes over the years. I do intend to go back to the beginning at some point because I've been told it's worth it.

Just watched last night's Whitechapel - WOW! - thought for an awful moment though that the body in the river was the Ripper - I had no desire to see him again! *shivers*

I LOVED it. Really enjoyed it. There were a few bits a didn't get but I've got the first series downloading to clear that up. I love how detailed and intricate the plot was. Won't be missing next weeks!!

Nice one!

The only head scratcher for me is why Pemberton is back.
The plot reason is as thin as a waffer theen meent.
Oh, he's a ripperologist, but they solved that so now he's a Kraysologist  Grin

Also at least 3 links to Who I could see - Pemberton, Phil Davis & Claire Rushbrook.

Yeah, best watched on a dark night with lots of munchies & a big blanket - series 1 is some creepy stuff!

I was quite lucky with S1 in that I didn't realise it had been on, so watched the whole thing in one sitting on ITVPlayer - this week to week malarky is brutal!

It is indeed - I personally wouldn't recommend watching on a dark night ... but maybe that's just me!!!  Undecided

Ok, finished this today.

Have to say, without giving anything away, I was a bit disappointed with it.
The story just seemed to drift off at the end.

Anyone else watched it?
