After a brilliant Christmas episode featuring Kylie Minogue, series 4 started on 5th April 2008 with "Partners in Crime", the show was broadcast regularly for 13 episodes.

The series stars David Tennant as the tenth incarnation of the Doctor. In the Christmas special he is joined by Kylie Minogue as Astrid Peth. The series also reintroduces Catherine Tate as the Doctor's new companion Donna Noble, who leaves at the end of the series due to the Doctor having to wipe her memory. Billie Piper also reprises his role as Rose Typer in the final three episodes of series 4. The series 4 finale also features many people associated with the Doctor, including: Martha Jones, Mickey Smith, Sarah Jane Smith, Captain Jack, Jackie Tyler, Gwen Cooper, Ianto Jones and Luke Smith.

Series 4 was then followed with a series of specials in 2009. These specials led up to the departure of David Tennant as the 10th Doctor, and introduced Matt Smith as the 11th.

Although there are many good episodes in this, I generally find that I don't watch much of S3 and 4 if I want to watch some Who. I loved Fires of Pompeii and I also loved Turn Right, Stolen Earth and Journey's end. Picking one, I'm going with Fires of Pompeii. I love the idea behind it and also how Donna shows the Doctor to be human (in a way).

Silence in the Library/ Forest of the Dead for me. Definitely creepy and an original enemy.

A lot of great epiodes in this lot, but I've gone for SITL/FOTD - creepy, intriguing, and it introduced River.

This was a brilliant run of stories with no real stinkers (apart from the Next Doctor) The whole character of Donna Noble worked really well (aided by Catherine Tate's wonderful acting) so really I could comfortably have gone with any of these.

In the end I picked a story that summed up all of the excesses of the RTD era (good and bad) and had the single greatest scene of the entire Nu-Who era. End of Time got my vote and the scene in question was The Doctor and Wiflred Mott talking in a cafe about dying. I know the story - if held up to any scrutiny at all - is not very good. I know the Master developing magical powers is equally as rubbish.

But actually this whole romp summed up RTD in a nutshell - never the greatest plots but characterisations that are some of the best in Science Fiction history.

I used to have a huge dislike for The Next Doctor but I rewatched it about a month ago and really enjoyed it. It's still not good enough for my vote though. I love all of S4. All of it. The specials were pretty good too until TEOT. It was a tough one but I went with Turn left.

Now and then, every once in a very long while, every day in a million days, when the wind stands fair and The Doctor comes to call, everybody lives.

This one needed to be multiple choice. Far too many awesome stories to choose from. I went with Journeys End in the end.

TSE/JE get's my vote. If it had been split I'd have voted for Waters of Mars as the best of the specials

Series 4 was so strong its quite hard to choose some above others, but one of my favourite stories ever is Turn Left, so that's what I voted for.

It's Turn Left for me. OK, so maybe I have a soft spot for it, as it was my first Doctor Who story I ever watched, but it's a still an awesome story. It's unsettling, bleak and cool. Russel T. Davies' best script, by far, and the acting is wonderful and just about everything else works, except, perhaps, the plastic Time Beetle.
