Is it just me or did this story seem a lot more violent than what we usually get from the show? I'm not saying that I think it was unwatchable or anything to that extreme, but considering what we usually get from the show having the ship blown up and the dinosaur killed seemed a bit much.

Aside from the big thing at the end, I did wonder about the level of violence in this (and I am by no means squeamish). Two things spring to mind. This was an episode written by the same writer of Countrycide (a hugely, gratuitously violent story) so I suppose we should not be surprised. Second, some of the violence was qualified (the concern of Rory for his Father and the grieving of the Doctor for the Triceratops) which was a good thing. But there was a lot of casual violence as well. Hmmmmm.

There were a couple of times throughout where it felt a bit like they were pushing it a bit. There was nothing in there that I think was unsuitable particularly, but for Doctor Who they definitely stepped it up a bit I think, and not necessarily ina good way. The ending was a bit much, but more because of who it was that set it in motion rather than the actual death itself

I thought the ending was a bit much and the killing of the dinosaur was a bit harsh too. Also, I know they were saving their own skin but the gleeful way that Amy and Riddell were zapping the raptors seemed a bit excessive, too.

Again, probably due to how little I have seen of the show this didn't seem particularly violent to me. I've seen a lot worse in shows aimed at a younger audience. It might be out of character for this particular show I guess but I don't think there was anything in there that the average audience member wouldn't have already seen elsewhere.

They were only using stun-guns - that point was made when Riddell gave Amy the gun. I can't say it seemed excessively violent to me. Certainly not when you compare it with something like Resurrection of the Daleks, which was supposed to have had a higher body-count than Terminator.

I didn't see this as being particularly violent tbh. There were times when there was violence but it was still quite tame and toned down

I thought it was ok. As others have said, there is nothing in there that we haven't seen in a dozen other shows. I mean, it had agressive dinosaurs in it. There has to be some degree of violence in it.

First, I didn't notice the violence at all. But, I agree with T-C: It's dinosaurs! Of course there is going to be some violence. Compare it to the Silence. I don't recall anyone being upset about the command to kill them all on sight, and this was far less violent than that. (mini-rant over )

Just my 2 pennies worth, but I really didn't notice it all that much either. Maybe I would've done if it didn't fit the story, but in context it all made sense to me.
