How many people around here actually try to stay spoiler free? and to what degree? Do you avoid the big stuff, or avoid it all completely? Im relatively new to DW but I just cant stop lapping up every bit of info on the upcoming episodes that I can find. I cant imagine coming to a place like this knowing there is a thread full of juicy information, and then avoiding it. I dont think I would have the self control even if I wanted to.

I couldnt do it even if I wanted to. I have no restraints when it comes to spoilers. I dont ever look for them for any other show, but when it comes to the Whoniverse I cant hold back. I have to know absolutely everything thats available to know

It was only with Series 5 that I started digging for spoilers. Before that I didnt really care. I was happy to wait to see what was on screen, but something about all the fuss about the new companion, and the fact there was no proper series last year made me want to know as much as possible, and ive stuck around ever since.

Doctor Who was the only show I didn't do spoilers for...until this year.  I had been finding some of the story lines dull in the last few years and decided that the best way for me to enjoy the show was to not know any spoilers, like how I used to watch Classic Who as a kid.  It didn't really work thou Sad  It wasn't until S5 that I got my love for the show back and I have been devouring as many spoilers as I can and it hasn't spoilt the stories at all, lol.

One day I shall come back. Yes, I shall come back. Until then, there must be no regrets, no tears, no anxieties. Just go forward in all your beliefs and prove to me that I am not mistaken in mine.

I read the spoilers because they are available to me on here and elsewhere. I could probably not look if I really wanted to and I dont really actively seek them if I am honest

Despite deliberately hunting for spoilers on upcoming series, I am currently watching the first 4 series for the first ever time and I am doing my damnedest not to know anything about it, which is unbelievably hard. There are things I know already, but overall I am hoping for lots of shocks and twists.

I've just noticed this topic and this is something I am quite interested in. I have been spoiled (spoilered?) for almost all Nu-Who thanks to the wonders of the internet Smiley So I am trying an experiment - I am trying to stay relatively spoiler-free for the Xmas special. There are certain titbits that are unavoidable but I have a test to employ 'The Radio Times' test; specifically if I could have read the info in the Radio Times, then it doesn't count as a spoiler and I can enjoy it freely as 'build up chat'. But anything that reveals hidden elements of the show, I am staying away from. I just want to see if spoilers really do spoil it.

I should add, i'm hip-deep in season 6 spoilers and loving what i'm hearing Smiley

Sounds like a good idea in principle, but is it actually working? How spoiler free are you for the Christmas Special?

I think I'm doing quite well. I know that Michael Gambon is in it (that was in the Radio Times) and I know its going to be loosely based on a Christmas Carol (either Matt Smith or The Moff said that) and that is about it Smiley So I am sticking to my guns. I just think it is worth me seeing whether spoilers enhance or diminish the viewing experience.

I already have a theory that actually they help my enjoyment as I generally dislike surprises - but I will keep you fully briefed as to the progress of my experiment Smiley

Well without wanting to rain down on your efforts, thats pretty much all anyone knows anyway. On the plus side though, you have still managed to remain unspoilered anyway Tongue

Well there are a few other tidbits doing the rounds. Lots of cast revealed, a few plot points (though they could be false I guess) and a few other bits. If that is all he knows so far he has done pretty good.

Yea I suppose. I suppose its what constitutes a spoiler for the individual. Casting and stuff like that, isnt personally 'spoilery' for me
