Maybe it's old age, or maybe it's PP's theory that he is turning into a Dalek, but the Doctor seems to be losing patience and getting angrier every time we see him. Maybe, as Amy said, it's because he needs someone with him. This has been a recurring theme since the show returned in 2005 so it certainly follows the pattern, or maybe specifically with this episode he was treating Jax how he feels he should be treated. As Jax pointed out, they aren't that different.

I thought that. I was taken aback a little by his extreme outbursts of anger, and there could be several reasons behind it, but I am definitely noticing the change!

I'm inclined to think so. These writers know their stuff and they know how to write the Doctor. He's been acting weird this series and so I think (hope) that there is a reason behind it.

People were mentioning this last week, too. I think when I come to go back and watch older episodes it's going to seem odd because his personality seem so normal to me from what I have seen in the last three episodes.

Different Doctors have fairly different personalities (though they're always recognisably the Doctor - that's the clever bit) and some are angrier than others.  The Ninth Doctor was very angry, for instance, and the First and Sixth were on and off.  Others have been a lot lighter.  The Eleventh Doctor has always seemed fairly mild.

Taking this individually, I'd probably interpret it as him seeing his own guilt reflected, but there does certainly seem to be a trend.  Maybe the Dalek influence is getting to him.  Maybe there was more than meets the eye when he said "Give me a Dalek any day" (or whatever precisely it was). Cool

I think it is going somewhere, I really do. I'm sticking by my theory that he is slowly turning into a Dalek, no matter how stupid it sounds.

Eleven's had outbursts of anger before - back in season 5's "The Beast Below" ("Nobody human has anything to say to me today!") and "Victory of the Daleks" when he attacked the Dalek with the tea tray.   I think whatever he saw on those tapes in Jex's ship really affected him.

I don't think it sounds stupid at all Smiley I agree with you entirely (either that means it's not stupid or we can both be stupid together hehe Smiley)
There are now tangible links to the first story (flickering lights, struggling against rage and uncharacteristic behaviour). And those nano-genes were never explained away.
I have definitely noticed the change, although I feel like Eleven is fairly angry. He just puts up a very good facade most of the time.

I think this is definitely the start of the Doctor getting darker. I kind of like the way it puts him at odds against himself Smiley

I think Miss Wright may be right. I think he is perhaps a lot less cool headed than we have been lead to believe and rather than getting angrier, we are just seeing his cool exterior slipping more.

Maybe it's happening because he is aware that he is getting closer to the Ponds permanent departure. He gave Amy a look in one of the recent episodes which indicated he knew of their 'ending'. Maybe it's something he is aware of but has no power to stop, therefore making him angrier.

This is what I think. I have a theory about it (which I will put elsewhere) but I think he is just reaching the(ir) end and he knows it, therefore making him angrier
