Coming from an acting family like the Redgraves mean that she was always going to give a great performance. But how wonderful was the character of Kate Stewart? My only small criticism is that we didn't get enough of her. It was a wonderful nod by Steven Moffat and Chris Chibnall to our old, fallen comrade and one that I think was perfect. I could really see a spin off or her appearing regularly in the main show (sadly I think Jem Redgrave's commitments would rule out anything but sporadic appearances).
It is not often I go overboard on an ancillary character but Kate Stewart left me wanting more. A great character in a great episode!

I can't wait to see her in this episode. I know of her role because of the spoiler charts I do but you never really know how these things will play out. Done well and it can be a lovely little nod to the past and a great character but handled badly and it can really come off a bit cheesy and like a bit of a ripoff. Stuff I am reading about the episode has been a bit mixed but reaction to her seems to be very positive so far so I can't wait to see for myself

I thought she was great & the discussion about who her father was actually made me tear up a bit.
Jemma Redgrave is always great though.

Being one to mostly avoid spoilers, this surprise hit me out of the blue- and I loved every bit of it. I liked her character immediately, and finding out who her father is was so great, I had to rewind and watch again. Excellent job by Moffat and Chibnall!

I love the idea behind the character. I think that was a lovely nod to the Brig. I can't help feeling, though, that something just wasn't working for me. I'm not sure if it was the character or the actress but it wasn't the massive bit of awesome that I was expecting it to be. I think that given another watch (or another appearance) I might end up feeling more positively about the whole thing but at the moment I am unsure.

I liked her a lot and I would like to see her turn up in another UNIT story at some point. I'm not sure if I liked her enough to think she should get a spinoff just yet but I am intrigued enough to want to see a bit more of her.

I thought she played the role well. She was subtle and understated but witty and strong without being a flirt or 'feisty' as they like to call it. There was something of the Brig about her which I liked. It's easy to say she is his daughter but that doesn't always translate in characters. This time it did.
