Picking up the Best Writer award once again is Steven Moffat who is Doctor Who's current head writer and "showrunner" for the programme, a position he undertook at the beginning of the Matt Smith era. He is also the show's most award-winning writer. Second Place - Russell T Davies Third Place - Terrance D icks

I know his writing is not to everyone's taste, but I really like what he does so I'm pleased with this result

Nice to see a classic writer get a look in, even if he wasn't a winner. I think Moff is a strong writer, though perhaps best with less workload each year. He hasn't put out much as his individual stories in the RTD years. TBH I thought RTD would get this.

I knew he would get it. Whether he should have is up for debate I guess, but it's a great top three.

Overall I prefer his S1-4 one off episodes, but still a worthy winner.

I'm not surprised at all that Moff won this, though I did expect to see Gaiman in the top three considering how well his episode did. Mostly I'm happy with the work Moff has done, so I think he is a worthy winner.
