Donna Noble was a companion to the Tenth Doctor. Despite her ordinary origins, she was described by both Rose Tyler and the Tenth Doctor as being the most important woman in all of creation. Donna saved the whole of reality from the Daleks and Davros. To survive the stress caused by her transformation into the "DoctorDonna", her memories of her time with the Doctor were forcibly erased and she was returned to Earth. It's no shock to see Donna on top for this one but the other two are sort of surprising. I love Martha but I am in a minority, I know and Rory is sort of a berk. I thought Rose and Amy would have gotten it.

Am I the only one who regards River as a companion? I'm sure she would have made the list otherwise  Donna winning doesn't surprise me but the placing of the other two does. |

I love all of those, but I would have liked to have seen Amy up there somewhere. I think her character has been a bit tarnished by the writing for her in series 5. Donna is excellent and I really like Rory and Martha as well, so it's still a good top three.

I knew Donna would get this. She has done every year. Seeing Rory and Martha on the list though is surprising. I like them both but I didn't expect them to make the top three.
