Yeah I must admit that I did enjoy the S4 finale.... Still do love watching it back every now and then! Have to have a laugh each time at Martha's German... soooo funny!
I lvoe the way for The Stolen Eath and Journey's End you have all the companions back, but I have to say I still can't help but drop a tear when the Doctor wipes Donna's mind... so sad!
But all in all I have to say that are two amazing episodes!

I honest to god, from that moment in the TARDIS with the 'friction, fiction, fixing, mixing, Rickston, Brixton' speech right the way through to the 'Songs of Donna Noble' speech, I was in tears, and even now if I only watch that one clip it still gets me every time. How manly, I know! Tongue

I know this was posted ages ago, but I thought I'd comment Smiley

I'm the same, it's really saddening when she starts losing it Sad She had the worse fate of any of the companions, it really sucks Sad Rose got her guy, Martha still had memories of her time with the Doctor but Donna was left with nothing Sad

And the irony of it was the only person not to be saddened by her fate was Donna herself  Sad The most heartbreaking part for me was when 10 went into the kitchen to say goodbye? And irritating Donna was back and totally dismissive of him? The look on 10's face?

This finale imo is by far the best we have had since the show returned. It is like a roller coaster ride taking you from happy to sad, laughing to crying, wonder to disbelief and everything else. It was brilliantly written and acted (with perhaps one too many cameos) and ti fully deserves full marks

Something that occurred to me today about this story - why didn't the TARDIS get transported with the Earth?  I think I just took for granted at the time it's because the TARDIS is outside time and space - but that's only the inside.  The outside is a physical object that exists in a specific spacio-temporal location in order to provide a connection between the interior TARDIS and the outside universe, so that object should behave like any other on the planet and get transported with it.

This is frankly, one of the best posts i've ever read. I totally agree with it and - more than anything else - I like talking about the TARDIS.

Incidentally, I thought that - of all the Tennant/RTD finales, this was the greatest. A solid gold five for me Smiley
