There were three UK number one singles during this period - Can't Buy Me Love by the Beatles, World Without Love by Peter & Gordon (written by Lennon/McCartney) and Don't Throw Your Love Away by the Searchers. Takes me back

April 20th - 21st - BBC2 was meant to launch on the 20th but there was a power cut so it began broadcasting the following day, also meaning that BBC now became BBC1

I've never even heard of the last one. I love The Pink Panther though. I didn't realise it was that old. I thought it was early 70's for the first one.
