TIQ has been moved to a new and shiny Wednesday slot starting from this week, where we turn to the fourth Doctor in Genesis of the Daleks. Intercepted while travelling between Earth and the Ark, the Fourth Doctor and his companions are transported to the planet Skaro, thousands of years in the past, on a mission for the Time Lords — to prevent the creation of the Daleks.
Genesis of the Daleks is the fourth serial of the 12th season of the British science fiction television series Doctor Who that was originally broadcast in six weekly parts from 8 March to 12 April 1975. It marks the first appearance of Davros, the creator of the Daleks. It is often cited as one of the best stories of Doctor Who ever to be made. The next story will be posted on Wednesday October 31st.

Ha, I watched this just a few days ago I might just comment straight off. Two Terry Nation stories in a row.

Unsurprisingly, a five. This may or may not be the best classic story ever, but it's certainly among the best. The three principals are all on cracking form, the supporting characters are excellent, the Daleks are suitably menacing, and the story introduces one of the great villains in the show's history. What more can you ask for?

The Beatles had Sgt Peppers, Nirvana had Nevermind, James Bond had Goldfinger, Brazil had the 1970 World Cup team. This is Doctor Who in excelsis this is as good as it gets. A perfect fusion of the best baddies, the best Doctor, the best companions, the best creative team and a simple idea. Add to that, an ensemble cast to die for and simple but wonderful sets and you have the recipe for an all time classic. Some things do not justify the hype, some stories lose their lustre with age and familiarity. This does not. I have watched this story hundreds of times and with each re-watch I find something slightly new and different to enjoy and appreciate. At its heart, this is simply a thumping good story with Tom Baker on sparkling form as the (then) new Doctor. It is a not so subtle allegory on the horrors of racism and fascist theories on eugenics with the Daleks being reinvigorated by the direct comparison with the Naz1s. It was voted as the best Doctor Who story of all time. Hard to argue with that really

What a story. I remember the first time I ever watched this story. I got to the end and was so amazed that I put it back on again and watched it all over. Doctor Who has produced some amazing stories over the years but the writing in this is just something else. I love it. Full marks

I watched this story after one of my friends it to me. I was not disappointed. I loved this story and it definitely has to be up there are one of my all time favourite episodes (of classic Who anyway). Would definitely recommend this to anyone, as it was so easy to get in to, and I didn't lose track of what was happening! 5/5 for me

I'm giving this a four. It's a really, really high four, but I couldn't quite go with a five because there are many Dalek stories I like more and think deserve full marks a bit more.

Due to unforseen circumstances there has been a delay in new stories being posted. As of Sunday 6th January they will be back to their weekly schedule and I will be posting the new stories for a little while until PP is back.
Sorry for the delays

Anyone can join in here, right? I haven't done a rewatch but can join in with the next one if that's ok with everyone? In the meantime, just based on how much I love this story I have rated it full marks. It's one of the best there is.

Unforseen circumstances happen. Unless you've already been to the future, of course.

I've given this story a three. I've only seen it once and while I enjoyed it, it didn't jump out at me as amazing. Perhaps it's one of those stories that takes a couple of watches to fully appreciate it, but for now I think a 3 is fair.

I've always been quite keen on this one. I'm not a huge fan of the Daleks but this is definitely one I can rewatch. I think Davros is introduced really well.

Without hesitation, I've given this full marks. It's such a good story and really redefined how we looked at the Daleks. It was an excellent story in it's time and has held up so well.

I got this for Christmas and watched it this week. I was really surprised by how much I enjoyed it. Sometimes things can be overhyped and the more you hear about how great something is, the bigger the expectation is when you watch it, more often than not leading to a bit of a let down, but I really can see what the fuss is about with this one. It's a great story. It's not without faults though so I gave it a 4.
