I really really enjoyed the episode and I actually really liked that it wasn't a classically happy warm and fuzzy Christmassy ending (not sure if that made sense). I absolutely love Clara Oswin and freely admit that my girl crush on her has been solidified. So many questions came out of the episode and I can't wait to see how the story of Souffle Girl plays out. Amazing set-up for the remainder of the season. If only we didn't have to wait!!!!!

Full marks from this end. I wasn't keen on the slushy ending that Saber mentions but other than that I loved it all. So many good characters and a razor sharp script. Totally enjoyable.

It was so close to perfection for me, but as I've complained about in the past, Moffat went down the 'emotions beat any bad guy' route that he seems so fond of and it felt like a total copout. I'm not a writer so I don't have a better way of ending it, but it's his job and it's a bit too icky for my liking. Everything else was great though.

After a couple of rewatches I think I'd consider bumping up to a five for this. The rest of the episode is so good that my earlier criticisms could probably be overlooked.

4/5 from me. I think this is a great episode and it had a lot going for it, but there were a couple of things, all previously mentioned, that just didn't sit so well with me. It's still been one of the best Christmas Specials we have had though.

Just a three from me for this episode. I thought it was ok but I've not felt inspired to rewatch it yet which I think is a big sign. There wasn't stuff in it that I didn't like, as such, it just didn't grip me in the way other episodes have.

I'm not quite sure what I expect from a Christmas story, but they never seem to jump out and make me go 'wow' the way that other episodes do. Perhaps my expectations are too high. I liked this. It was an easy to watch episode with some cool episodes, but there were elements to it that just didn't work for me. For that reason I only give it 4/5

Watching the Doctor Who Christmas special in the middle of summer in broad daylight was one of the most jarring experience I've ever had. It was the only time in the whole year I wanted to swap Oz for home. I didn't like it. I did however think that the episode was pretty awesome. Not the best, but still great. I've rated it 4/5

I'm not so sure that after a few rewatches I might have marked it down to a four instead. I still think it's awesome but now the excitement has worn off and I've seen it a couple of times I see a few things in it that aren't as great as I initially thought.

Probably the best episode of Matt Smith's all-too-brief tenure. It's funny classy and scary, with Smith's most hilarious performance. Jenna-Louise was also instantly great as the new companion. Oh, yeah... AND IAN FREAKING MCKELLEN!
