The scene where the Doctor trips the Master with the scarf wasn't in the script, but something TB decided to improvise and as a result Anthony Ainley got his feet tangled, which you can see in the final shot. This was on the commentary I listened to this week

The location scenes at the Pharos Project were not filmed at Jodrell Bank (as was widely thought). Instead the ground scenes were filmed at a BBC receiving station in Crowsley Park and the actual radio telescope was done by model work.

Episode 4 was the first episode to credit two actors as "The Doctor" following a regeneration. It also happened at the end of The Caves of Androzani. In both cases, Peter Davison was billed second

Although The Pandorica Opens/The Big Bang probably beats it - but not permanently.

Tom Baker was so grumpy towards Janet Fielding during filming that he made her cry twice.

Going by how Tom Baker tells of his attitude during that final story it's a wonder he didn't make everyone cry
