Come on, you didn't expect me to cover something else, did you? I have an incredible bias when it comes to Dalek stories in that I am such a geek for Daleks that I will overlook the awful ones and swear that they are awesome, even though deep down I know they are kind of awful. My list won't be including any outright clangers, like Evolution or Victory (even though I quite love them), but it won't be a standard list either. I think there will be a couple of unexpected stories in there. Just as everyone else has stated, this list is my own so I make no apologies if you think it is ridiculously off base. You could always make your own to put it right if you don't agree with my opinions I don't know how often I will update. Every time I visit, I suppose.

10The Chase The First Doctor - 1965 I bet most people wouldn't have expected to see this story on the list. The Chase, to me, is so utterly underrated it's unreal. Ok, I know the story is a bit bonkers and no matter how many times you watch it it still doesn't quite add up or make sense, but that's half the reason why I love it. I watch it from beginning to end with a smile on my face, often breaking out into laughter based solely on how ridiculous it is, but yet I love it. It doesn't claim to be anything more than it is. It isn't looking to terrify you or make a big statement about the Daleks, it's just a good old 'chase' for both the Daleks and the Doctor, taking in some impressive and often odd (why is there a jungle on mechanus with all the flame throwing?) locations along the way and culminating in a very weird battle with lots of explosions. Whether they wanted it to be or not, it isn't filled with drama and tension, but it's still highly watchable.

I only saw this one once but I enjoyed it. I'm not sure if I have seen enough classic Dalek stories to say where or if I would place this one, but it's not a bad story and I have seen worse ones featuring the Daleks.

Well I have to say I didn't expect to come in and see this one. Not because I thought it should be higher, but just because in terms of Dalek stories it's just plainly overlooked most of the time. I quite like the story personally, but I think it probably wouldn't have made my list of top Dalek stories. There's no right or wrong choices though when it comes to personal favourites

I think The Chase is a wonderful story, but I was never really sure of it's intentions. Was it meant to be serious and the director went the other way, or was it actually meant to be a bit of a fun romp, which seems a little out of keeping with other Dalek stories. However it was meant to be, it works for me. I like it a lot.

Not one of my favourite stories, Dalek or otherwise. There is good in it, but it sort of descends into chaos about half way through as though nobody, writers or actors, had any clue what was going on. It's enjoyable enough if you don't pay too much attention to the holes in the plot, but otherwise not one I'd list.

It's definitely a random choice, I'll say that much, and I'm not sure I would have included it personally, but I do love the story all the same.

I love this story. The Daleks in a lighter story makes a nice difference and not one we get often.

9Death To The Daleks The Third Doctor - 1974 I deliberated a while as to whether or not to put this higher, but when I looked through my list it came down to liking the others just a bit more and so Death to the Daleks sits in at number 9. This story shows the Daleks being dastardly and cunning in a way that they hadn't really been seen before. This wasn't them bent on destruction, but more about gaining power. It also, of course, saw them powerless for the majority of it which puts an interesting spin on things when they decide to make an alliance with the Doctor. It was never going to that easy for him though, and it's not long before they double cross him and intend to blow up an entire planet. So I guess some destruction was on the cards, after all. Another reason for the inclusion of this story is that the design of the Daleks in this one is my all time favourite. They looked absolutely brillant and while for the most part the changes in design over the years has been subtle (with some colourful exceptions) this one was perfect for me. Unfortunately, when they returned in the next story they were redesigned and didn't look half as good.

I've not seen Death to the Daleks, but I do love The Chase. I don't know why it gets such a bad rep. I think it's lots of fun.

I'd have put these the other way around I think. Both are good but I like The Chase more.

I love this story. And I agree with Ex about the design. I'd have put this one higher I think. Perhaps about 7 or 6.

This one should have been better than it ended up being, imo. There was so much there that should have worked but I've always felt it lacked something.

I've not seen this one so I wouldn't be able to comment on whether or not it was a good entry, but from what I have read about it it's a good one.

Not my favourite of the Pertwee Dalek stories but this isn't bad by any means. This list is shaping up to be pretty random so far. You're an odd one, Ex

I've never been a huge fan of the Daleks. Some of their stories are great but as villains I find them a tad overrated. The Chase is a great story because it breaks from form, but DttD isn't one of my favourites.

8Planet of the Daleks The Third Doctor - 1973 This story sometimes comes in for some stick from the fans. There isn't a lot going on in there that hasn't already been done (and that they wouldn't do again), and I think the fact it isn't the most original story bothers a lot of people because the acting and the sets are all very good. Despite the criticisms though, there is still something about it that sets it apart for me and I really, really like it. I always watch this one along with Frontier and have a big 12 part epic marathon, as I think watching it as a whole really ups the story and makes it feel better. That's not to say it isn't great without the addition of Frontier, but it does make it feel more complete.

I love it. It ws amongst the first Pertwee stories I saw. I'm not big on the Daleks but I really like this story a lot.
