It's been announced that Matt Smith is to star in a Hollywood film directed by Ryan Gosling called How to Catch a Monster: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-21372677Of course, the $24,000 question is whether he's fitting it in around his schedule, or whether he anticipates being a free agent.

I think that if they only intend to film two episodes this year then it's more than doable. It depends on the size of his role. Production on the anniversary episode is from April and on the film from May. His filming on the movie could be as little as a week or two and then maybe some pickups later in the year. They could fit that in between filming with no problems I'd imagine, even if Who is filming more than the two episodes. I think that if he was leaving, and knowing the way that fans speculate, they wouldn't have allowed such an announcement that could interrupt Moffs plans and secrets

He's supposed to be the male lead, but even so it could be fit-in-able.
