V is for...

Victoria Waterfield

Victoria was the daughter of Edward Waterfield, a Victorian gentleman.  Her mother died when she was a baby.  In 1866, when she was in her teens, she was living in the house of Theodore Maxtible in Kent, with whom her father was undertaking experiments in time travel, when the house was invaded by Daleks, who took her prisoner.  Although rescued by Jamie and Kemel, she was recaptured and taken to Skaro, where her father was killed helping to defeat the Daleks.

She travelled for a while with the Doctor and Jamie, encountering Cybermen, Yeti, the scientist Salamander and seaweed creatures.  Although innocent and sometimes timid, Victoria showed surprising resilience at times.  She relied heavily on Jamie, who had a crush on her, but eventually decided the danger was too much for her and settled in the late 20th century with a couple called the Harrises.
