The price of it is definately a turn off. If they put it up again in the next sixth months I will stop buying it. I know I sound like a grumpy old lady but they take the **** with the constant price hikes

For various reasons I have only gotten around to reading last months DWM this morning and I felt I had to come and rant about the Nicholas Briggs interview. Did anyone here read it? What an **** of a man he comes off as. I always had a deep respect for him and his work on the show and other DW media, but that interview made him come off as a pompous, arrogant, bitter old ****. He mentioned in nearly every other paragraph how he is an actor and people need to realise that, but it seemed like he was the one who needed the most convinving. He spoke of his unprofessionalism like it was something to be proud of. How he argues with producers and directors for example made him sound like a spoiled child who would spit his dummy if he didnt get his own way. He has a very inflated sense of his own importance, name dropped as often as possible like it would make us think he was cool and just generally came off as very unlikeable. His attitude towards his appearance in Torchwood was appauling too. He should be grateful RTD put him forward for the gig but instead moaned that he wasnt sat next to the PM (in the cabinet scenes), that some of his dialogue was cut and that the Euros Lyn asked him to tone it down because he was overacting in a scene, because Euros didnt realise how important his character was. I wish I hadnt read it to be honest because it has really put me off him

I read that too, and I have to agree he didnt come off very well at all. He doesnt seem like a very likeable person. I had to laugh at his comments about how he will still want to do the voices on DW even after he wins an Oscar Tongue

I have to add my name to this list. He didnt come off favourably at all. He seems to have this attitude like he is the Daleks and the Cybermen. When he was talking one of the many times about being a 'proper' actor, he said something about how other acters are shocked he is an actual actor but he reminds himself that he is the Supreme Dalek while they arent, and though it is an awesome gig, he could be a lot more gracious about it. His singling out of Catherine Tate saying how she didnt get how important his job was was unfair too I thought. He tried to make out like she was rude and stupid about it. She herself has stated lots of times that she was oblivious to lots of the goings on because she didnt understand the more technical stuff about the making of the show. Its hardly a reason to make out like she wasnt nice or pleasent to him. I mean, she thought the Sontarans were robotics and didnt realise they have real people inside, so its hardly surprising if she isnt a know it all about his modulator ring

Yes, I didnt like that either. When he wasnt name dropping, he was naming people and everytime it was like, 'I like X, but.....' and would tell a story about how they had wronged him or had the audacity to not bow to his ego

I haven't read the article and I can't tell you how sad I am to hear it. I follow Nick Briggs on Twitter and my experiences of him on there have been, on the whole, positive. One of the things that I have always been amazed at is how decent most of the actors who take part in DW are - I guess i will have a look at the interview for myself but it will be such a shame - this guy has got one of the luckiest gigs on the planet; I hope he realises that.

I also have read this and have to admit he really does seem to think awfuly highly of himself. I get he is poud of his job, and he well should be. But his ego about it was jumping off the page. Also, as you all know I am a big fan of the audios, but the way he went about sticking the knife in with his predecessor, basically saying, thought without actually saying, how he saved Big Finish I thought it was a bit much. His attitude towards the staff doesnt seem too pleasent either. When he was talking about phoning RTD behind a directors back so that he could get his own way about a particular voice I was really shocked. He tried to make it out like it was a joke but it seemed very unprofessional.

I'm glad I wasn't the only one who thought that about his interview.  I read it with a puzzled expression on my face cos the whole thing sounded very different to what I was expecting.  Makes me wonder why it wasn't edited together better more than anything else :s

Well if this many people thought it was a bad interview, it at least means I wasnt alone. Such a shame really because it could make his popularity go right down

Wow. Nicholas Briggs's job might be exterminated now. Then he would be deleted from the credits.
