Now and then, every once in a very long while, every day in a million days, when the wind stands fair and The Doctor comes to call, everybody lives.

This story replaced a scipt by Stephen Fry which was originally intended to air in this slot and be set in a haunted house but he didn't have time for rewrites

This is one of the few stories where not a single character dies

The 'next time' trailer at the end included clips from the following two episodes.

Though Tennant didn't really carry the torch as featured in this episode, Matt Smith actually did. Though not as the Doctor, unfortunately.

The Doctor's prediction about Papua New Guinea in the shot-put wasn't accurate, since PNG didn't win a single medal.

Over ten thousand people signed a petition to get Tennant to carry the torch dressed as the Doctor. It didn't happen.

What are the others? I can't think of any off the top of my head. Perhaps The Girl Who Waited, though older Amy is an arguable case.

It would have been awesome though and made the episode just that little better.

The Empty Child/The Doctor Dances ("Everybody lives") in NuWho.  The most obvious classic story is The Edge of Destruction, where there are no spare characters to die.
