RULES - please read before posting in this section

This is a section for discussing one of my favourite things in the world - books.

Without coming over all draconian we are going to have quite a strict set of rules in this section because, unlike film or tv where you can put a kind of time limit on spoilers, we really don't think you can with books. For that reason we are putting some limitations in place.

Because we all come to different books at different times:

You cannot start threads to discuss whole book series - they must be for individual books. For example - you can start a thread about Harry Potter & the Philosopher's (Sorcerer's) Stone, but not the whole HP series.

You cannot discuss future books in a series within a discussion about an early book in a series. For example, sticking with HP, - you cannot discuss Half Blood Prince in a thread about Prisoner of Azkaban.

All spoilers must be tagged. This includes discussion of said spoiler if the discussion makes it explicit what the spoiler is. I'm not giving you an example here because anything I choose could be a spoiler for someone, but use common sense - we know you can do it as you have shown as you can elsewhere in this forum. If you are unsure how to use spoiler tags there is a 'how to' here. Quite helpfully The Doc has just made the policeman smiley into a spoiler tag button as well (thanks Doc).
