This perhaps is a load of crap (especially when you add in the comment about finding the 'missin' episode of Planet of Giants), but there's some potentially interesting information regarding writing and filming. I assume it would be for next season, though it could even be for Christmas if Moff isn't writing it this year? The interesting part is this... Cross, who lives in Wellington, has written two episodes of the upcoming season of Doctor Who alongside showrunner Steven Moffat and Neil Gaiman. He is in line to write a New Zealand set episode after Sir Peter Jackson accepted an invitation to direct an episode from the show's lead Matt Smith issued in a Waikato Times interview. What do you think?

But where does their information come from? Filming there would be great, but they don't even say how they know he is writing another story, let alone how they know it would be filmed there. It would be awesome if true, especially to have Jackson direct it, but I've got my bucket of salt here waiting.

I'd love to see what happens in a fourth episode. Maybe that's the one where Ian and Barbara have a steamy scene in the TARDIS bedrooms, and Susan reveals that, unknown to the Tenth Doctor, she was really Madame de Pompadour. As you say, this calls the quality of the information into serious question.

I'd say it's probably something that's been made up, or crossed wires somewhere along the line. As far as I know nothing for S8 has been written yet. Moff said himself he hasn't started, only has an outline. If you are planning to film abroad I'd say it's better to have an early script to make sure it's ok to get the wheels in motion, but how anyone would know about it is beyond me. I'm guessing the writer hasn't let slip since there are no quotes.

We found out about the filming in Italy about 3 weeks before. We found out about Dubai when they were on the way there because of the bus damage. We found out about Croatia a couple weeks before and we found out about Utah a few weeks before. I don't see any reason why news of filming in New Zealand would be leaked over a year in advance. I think it's probably made up.

I'm not buying it. It's not impossible, but right now it seems unlikely.

I think if Peter Jackson was directing an episode we would know about it and wouldn't be hearing about it in some local rag. The whole article seems iffy.

I would've thought Peter Jackson will be pretty busy with post production on the remaining Hobbit films for quite some time. I know he was still working on Return of the King right up til hours before it was due to be delivered in it's final cut.

According to Entertainment Weekly Peter Jackson has confirmed that he would like to direct an episode of DW & has hinted that all he would like in return is a gold Dalek. You can read the whole story HERE
