Neil Cross made his DW writing debut with this story. Do you think he did a good job (based on this alone and not taking Hide into account)? Would you want to see more from him?

I think this wasn't a totally horrible first effort, but I find it hard to believe Moffat (as he stated in an interview a while back) saw the script for this and was so blown away that he asked him to write a second story for the season. What did he see in it that was so amazing?

I think it was a pretty good effort. There were a few clunky bits but on the whole I quite liked the story and I think he did a good job.

I haven't rewatched it since and so all this is going on a memory that's a few months old, but I wasn't keen on it and I don't think it was a strong story for him. I definitely need a rewatch though so that opinion will probably change.

I think it was a good effort. It's one of those stories for me that has improved upon a rewatch. I like when that happens. I wasn't sure what to expect because I am not sure if I have seen any of his work before, but I think he did a good job and I wouldn't have a problem with him returning.

Decent job, but I don't know if I would have had him writing two episodes.

He writes Luther if that's any use to you.

Not a bad job in terms of dialogue, but the actual plot seemed a bit random and pointless

I thought it was the other way around and this was the second of his stories to be written! I hope so, anyway, because there is no excuse for reading this and asking for more. I read in another thread that this was a hastily commissioned script to fill a gap in the season, and if so that makes the whole thing a bit more bearable.
