Now and then, every once in a very long while, every day in a million days, when the wind stands fair and The Doctor comes to call, everybody lives.

The opening shot of this episode, in which the Earth and its moon appear, is reused footage from the opening shot of Rose.

The original plan for this story was to have the Doctor dress in the clothes David Tennants character wore in Casanova.

The original choice for the role of the Tenth Doctor was an unknown (and so far unnamed by the BBC) English actor who spoke in c0ckney accent, he didn't get the role because he moved with his family to Australia.
