I know this gets thrown in with a lot of the guest cast, but am I the only one who thinks the Professor and Emma could carry off quite an interesting show on their own? It's unlikely, but I think it could have legs if they ever did.

I think it could work, but I think it would be removed from the larger DW universe. A bit like Cheers and Frasier. They have a connection but mostly are totally seperate. They could work as some sort of retro ghost hunting team, but I think any space/alien stuff would have to be kept out of it.

That being said, until we get 'The Silurian, The Sontaran, The Maid and her Lover', which is what I think the Vastra spinoff should be called , I don't want to see anything else spun off.

I think the general story idea is pretty cool, but not as a DW spinoff. Didn't they sort of have that show anyway? With Leslie Sharp and Andrew Lincoln. Can't remember what it was called but it was about a psychic and a professor. About 5 years ago or so.

We get a lot of good characters in the show and a lot of the time there are people who think the characters should get a spinoff, but personally I don't see it too often, and certainly not with these two. While the premise may be a good one, I don't think these two particular characters would be interesting enough to carry it off.

I didn't like either of them enough to watch them on a weakly basis. I'd say no to a spinoff. Saying that though, I didn't like Captain Jack and I still loved Torchwood, so who knows?

Not for me. I think it's easy to get excited over characters and want to see more of them, but as much as I liked this story I'm not sure I'd want to see them in another episode of this, let alone their own series.

I agree. There've been a few characters/situations over the years with obvious spinoff potential, but not many - besides Torchwood and SJA, the most obvious for me would be UNIT (without the Doctor), Jago and Litefoot (recently done on audio) and the Paternoster Gang. And, of course, there was a Daleks comic strip. Others might work, depending on how they're handled, but aren't obvious, and I don't think this is one of the frontrunners at all.
