He has a sliver of ice in his heart!

Very interesting comment, this, but one I don't understand. Where did it come from? I thought it would lead to something but it didn't and so it seemed like a very random. He was there helping after all. Something relating to the 50th, perhaps? Or the regeneration? Or Hurt?

It is an odd comment. I think it is meant to be one of those things to cause alarm and get us to sit up and pay some attention/wonder why, but ultimately doesn't mean anything other than being something the writer thinks is cool to say.

Maybe she was just highlighting the fact that he had ulterior motives for taking an interest in Clara, and so it is his interest that can't be trusted.

As for the sliver of ice, maybe it's to do with the Time War? Or perhaps something to do with his dark side which we often hear about. Or something to do with John Hurt?

I agree with Sparky. I think it's just one of those lines to create a bit of drama that ultimately means nothing and leads nowhere.

They do things like this a lot and it's always pointless. As the audience we don't see the Doctor any differently and the people in the story always end up being on his side anyway, unless they weren't to start.
