Do you think that something like we see in this episode would actually be likely to happen in modern day Britain? I don't just mean the relocation and stuff like that, but people living on top of each other, martial law, minorities shipped off to work camps and such. I actually find that stuff quite scary, which may be part of the reason I love the episode.

Without wanting to get too heavily political, I think anyone who says "it could never happen here" about anything like that is either delusional or already planning to make it happen.  Given the right circumstances, it could totally happen here.

I think the idea of it is terrifying, but the way the world is going I don't think it is outside the realm of possibility in the UK, or anywhere else in the developed world for that matter.

Possible, definitely, however I would say, at least at the time being, it is very unlikely. However, I'm saying that with the thought of us just descending into it. If we were in a situation like the Nobles were then I'd say it was very likely to happen, especially given the tensions and troubles going on all over at the moment.

I think it would take a lot of factors to fall into place for us ever to get to that stage, barring some sort of nuclear strike. The state of the country may have fallen, but it hasn't descended that far yet.
