I'm still a little lost by the point of it. I know it showed up in the following season for a little bit, but the reasons behind it are still a bit confusing to me. Why did they have a TARDIS as apposed to any other time machine? Why was it on Craigs roof? When this was on I expected payoff and when it never came I'd already forgotten about it, but on rewatch it stood out that it didn't really go anywhere.

I'm completely with you on this, no idea what it's point was. Maybe Moffat had some storyline planned but decided against it. Maybe it'll turn up in Christmas haha.
Just weird the Doctor didn't really take much notice of another TARDIS

I'd not really thought of it, but it was a bit pointless wasn't it. Though the whole thing with the Silence and Kovarian was never really finished and now with Matt leaving it probably won't be, so we may never know now.

There wasn't any real reason to have it in this episode, to be honest. When it reappeared in S6 it would have worked just as well if we hadn't seen it before. It was wasted here and didn't really make any sense other than to make the audience go 'oooooh'.
