This is the thread for discussion of the overnight ratings, the official ratings, audience share, AI, iPlayer hits and anything else to do with ratings for this episode.

The initial ratings, share and AI will be from the UK, though these may be expanded upon later to take into account figures from elsewhere in the world such as the US and Australia.

Please feel free to discuss the ratings and share your thoughts on how well this episode is doing. For ratings relating to other episodes, please check the relevant threads.

If you need any help understanding how the ratings and AI is calculated, then feel free to ask and either a moderator or fellow member will advise you.

And that's just in the UK, of course.

Yes. Can't wait to see some of the other figures.

BBC One have just tweeted to say that the simulcast has earned DW a Guinness World Record:

Not ratings as such, but still relevant to viewing figures.

The website Screen Daily is reporting that the 3D cinema showings of The Day of the Doctor, which took place in tandem with its television début on BBC One at the weekend, earned £1.7 million in Britain, enough to propel the story to third place at the UK box office for the weekend. The 50th anniversary special was therefore behind only the Hollywood blockbusters The Hunger Games: Catching Fire (£12.2 million) and Gravity (£2.4 million) in this week's chart.

Screen Daily also reports that this is the first week in which releases from Event Cinema, which handled the distribution of The Day of the Doctor for the BBC, have been included in the UK box office chart. The reported figure comes from showings on 450 screens on Saturday.

The AI for the episode was 88.

Final viewing figures should appear soon. As soon as I spot them I'll post them  Smiley

Consolidated UK TV ratings are in at 12.8 million.

According to DWM on Twitter that makes it the second highest rated show of the year so far. And puts it at no. 16 in the list of highest rated eps ever (out of 799).

Apparently the episode had 1.3million requests on iPlayer in the immediate 24hrs following its broadcast. Its total currently stands at 2.9million requests - and I think that might be the final figure as I believe it has gone from the iPlayer now.
