Someone I know who's a DW fan, but not too enamoured of recent series, was complaining about the regeneration being so violent that it could destroy a Dalek fleet.  I don't really think this is an issue, since it seems to me that it must have taken a vast amount of Time Lord power not only to regenerate the Doctor but to give him an entire new cycle, so I see this as more a parallel with the power Rose had as Bad Wolf.

However, that started me thinking about the regen in The End of Time, which was also pretty destructive, and it occurred to me that, as we now know it was the 12th, this was the one that somehow gave rise to the Valeyard.  Could that be linked to its destructiveness, either as cause or effect?
