Another cameo from Missy. So far, she seems to be collecting people who've died in some way because of the Doctor. Could she be recruiting people who might be willing to fight against the Doctor? Or, if is this a CAL-like "saving"? If my previous guess was right and she is the TARDIS, presumably her psychic link with the Doctor would allow her access to those who die close to him

I don't think she can be saving them literally or physically. I reckon the stuff about memories in this episode might be a clue.

No, I wasn't meaning literally or figuratively - more like CAL saving people from the library to her hard-drive, as the Doctor does to River in the end.

Ahh, okay.
Just thought of one possibility. Call me crazy, but could Missy be Romana?

Not impossible, but I suspect she won't be any more than any of the other mystery women

I was trying to find some sort of clue in the name. Missy? Miss E? Miss E-space? If it was some other Time Lord/Lady (e.g. The Rani) wouldn't that mean all that stuff about the Doctor being the last Time Lord was false (unless they escaped the same way as the Master). But if Romana was not in N-space, maybe it wouldn't apply to her.
Admittedly, it seems somewhat implausible that Romana has just gone bad. Unless we are being misled and Missy turns out to be a Big Good rather than a Big Bad.

I don't believe Missy will turn out to be anyone we're already familiar with. I imagine she's something new entirely, something that's taken an interest in the Doctor for whatever reason and has become fixated on meeting, confronting, and/or defeating him.
Though I will admit that I like the theory floating around there that she's a projection of the Doctor's original TARDIS, from before he went rogue. "Heaven" itself would then be a room (or series of rooms) within this TARDIS itself. The Doctor left her behind and ran off with a different TARDIS, leaving her to sit and gather dust on Gallifrey until she eventually had to come out of retirement to fight the Time War, which she of course escaped or survived in some manner. Now she's been watching him, stalking him almost, and desperately wants to reconnect with him in any way possible - even going so far as to attempt to kill her competition by blowing it up at the end of Smith's debut season.
It's not likely, of course, but it's a neat idea.

Maybe we're all assuming too readily that she will turn out to be the big bad. Maybe she's a goody

Well, that's an interesting theory. I fairly quickly thought of the TARDIS, but a virtual reality within his own TARDIS. It would certainly be a twist if it were a different TARDIS, but I think his is more likely.
