Who should play the next Master?

We have one for the next Doctor and a suggestion in there made me realise that I think Julian Mcmahon would be brilliant in the role. I dont like the idea of him as the Doctor as suggested, but I think he would make an amazing Master. Your ideas?

Perhaps someone like Nathan Fillion? I think he would be good. He plays evil so well but always has a certain charm, which I think is important for the role.
Didnt Simm say he was willing to come back to regenerate?

Yea I read that too.
Ewan McGregor would be great I think, but probably too big a name to be considered seriously

Yea he was totally evil in Buffy.
What about James Nesbitt? People tout him as the next Doctor, but he would make a nice, suave Master I think

I dont have someone in mind specifically, but I would say for the next master we should have someone older, in their 50's maybe. Someone with old style sophistication but an air of menace. Like an old fashioned gangster type. You know, perfect manners and gentlemanly, but totally insane and psychotic. Does that make sense?

Yes, that make sense, I would like someone to play it similar to the mayor in Buffy, polite, political, some kind of OCD, but completely and utterly insane.

Lots of great choices in the mix there, but I have to admit I would be more than happy to have John Simm carry on for a few more stories

James Nesbitt as the Master is a brilliant choice for two reasons. First, as soon as I read it, i can see him as an urbane, civilised and slightly witty villain. Secondly, it means that he would not be able to play the Doctor and (this is based on nothing more than my personal opinion) I couldn't see him pulling
that
role off with any conviction. Yet as the Master, he really works for me.

If the Master doesn't have to be British, how about Willem Dafoe?
He can play as evil and as crazy as they come.
If he does have to be British, how about Christopher Lee?

Not sure about Willem Defoe. There is something about him that screams sex pest. I dont know what it is, he just makes me uncomfortable.
Christopher Lee could be good, but hasnt he given up acting?

Mark Sheppard would be amazing as the Master, but that's not likely to happen, lol. I can't remember his name, but the blonde guy from spooks who is also in Whitchapel would be a good choice too.

You mean Rupert Penry-Jones? Sadly, he can't play the Master as I have him in mind for the role of Doctor No. 12

But what about watching him play The Doctor?
I LOVE the idea of Mark A. Sheppard as The Master, but not gonna happen now, is it?
Why not bring back TV's Eric Roberts? (joke.)
Nathan fillion - big no no. Why? Two reasons;
1. He is the star of his own hit show, Castle, in America (it's great!)
2. He's kicked off a massive twitter campaign to land the role of Drake in the Uncharted movie(s)
Until a couple of days ago, sadly, I had a great name in mind.
Mr Simon MacCorkindale. He would have been an absolutely brilliant, charming, old school Master.

Love Castle - very good reason why it can't be Fillion (much as I love him).

Unless he
is
going to be the Master and we just dont know. Could be an interesting way to open the series. River, The Master, The Silence, The TARDIS Team, all in a big two part opener
